THE CHALLENGE
I have nothing better to do with myself this weekend, so I decided to challenge myself with my writing. I'm going to write a novel in a weekend. Yes, that's a big challenge for a writer in training, but I'm going to give it my best shot. No, it won't be perfect. It'll be a piece of crap. That's okay though, I'm not aiming for perfection. As long as my fingers are dancing on the keyboard for two days, I'll be happy. I have a story idea in my head already, so I'm ready to start writing. I'm going to start writing Saturday morning, and won't stop until Sunday night before I turn in for the night.
This writer in training is going for the gold, this weekend.

The Bee and the Book
I came up with an idea for a children's story on my way home from work the other day. I was walking home since it was a gorgeous day out. The walk also gave me the chance to survey the damage from the wind storms we had over the weekend. Trying my best to ignore the pain of a bee sting that I received earlier, I got this idea in my head for a children's book. By the time I got home, my book was finished. Well, in my head, anyway.
I didn't waste any time. As soon as I walked in the door, I turned on the computer and wrote my story. No, it's not ready to send off to a publisher, yet. It still has some revisions. I was pretty proud of myself though. I didn't wait until later to write the story down. I'm quite the procrastinator.
It's just weird. I really don't understand where my idea came from. It was one of those things that made me say, Oh! Maybe I have the bee to thank? I never did like them.

A Little Something I Wrote
This is just a little piece that I wrote a while back..
It was a reunion of sorts. For some, it was a first time meeting with people they only knew by their words and photos. Finally after weeks, months, and even years, aquanitances, friends, and enemies, were able to see each others faces in the flesh for the first time. It was like seeing a long lost relative again. Hugs, and hand shakes filled the room followed by laughter, and the occasional screech of joy as friends finally get a chance to look into each others faces. The mystery of ones apperance is revealed. The voice which was once mute, was a musical note to anothers ears. The fantasy of meeting a friend that they never have seen, became reality.
Some stood in the shadows not knowing what to think of the situation, scared to think what others might think of them. Pondering on the thought that maybe the expectations of them might be a little off the scale. Still, the scared are glad to be there. Seeing everyone for the first time is a high for them, inhaling one person at a time. Taking in the image of each person and making a note in their memory for future use, for when they get the nerve to come from behind the shadows.
For me, it was like I've know everyone for years. There wasn't a face or a voice I didn't recognize. It was like I met them before. I already knew everything I could about most of them. Through their words on the computer screen, I knew their personalities. I got to know what makes them tick, and what causes them to get angry as hell. I got to know their strenghts and weaknesses, which always good to know for a first time meeting.
